Returns, Exchanges, & Refunds

 
General Policy
 

Please note: All Closeout item sales are FINAL, so please be sure about your Closeout purchases. There will be NO exchanges or store credits issues for Closeout items.

 

In all other cases, the customer is strongly urged to contact SK8 Monkey for specific return instructions (regarding packaging, shipping instructions, any shipping charges owed, etc.). Our email is sk8monkey@live.com. Any returns received without having received instructions and preauthorization will be delayed by as much as two weeks.

 

Generally, most new, unopened or unused items (tags still attached) may be returned within 14 days of purchase (or in the case of post-Christmas exchanges, by January 15) for exchange or store credit ONLY, equal to the original purchase price, minus any shipping charges due (see below)*. The customer is responsible for carefully re-packing the returned merchandise in the original packaging if available, or comparable packaging in order to protect the merchandise during shipment.

 

Specifically in the case of a return for Store Credit or for an Exchange due to customer error or change of mind, the customer is responsible for paying to ship the item back to SK8 Monkey. In the event that you need to return a product, please email us requesting the proper address to place on your package.

 

Exchanges

 

*In the case of an Exchange (except in the case of SK8 Monkey error or product manufacturing defect - see below), the customer is also responsible for the return shipping costs incurred by SK8 Monkey to ship the correct item, even if the original item's purchase price exceeds $49.99 (the usual "Free Shipping" price point). In other words, SK8 Monkey's offer of Free Shipping is applicable to the original order only, and not to the new item. The return shipping costs will be determined by SK8 Monkey during the preauthorization process, and are most easily paid by check included in the package with the return merchandise. To avoid unnecessary delays, the customer is responsible for contacting SK8 Monkey PRIOR to returning any merchandise for further instruction.

 

Store Credit

 

*In the case of a return for Store Credit (except in the case of SK8 Monkey error or product manufacturing defect - see below), a customer-specific coupon code worth the amount of the original item's purchase price will be issued, minus an appropriate dollar amount for shipping out a comparable item in the future (except in special cases, and usually $5 or less - except for unusually heavy items such as ZUCA products, skate guards, or travel accessories). As with Exchanges, this shipping cost deduction is applied even if the original item's purchase price exceeded the "Free Shipping" price point of $49.99, because SK8 Monkey's offer of Free Shipping is applicable to the original order only, and not to the new item.

 

If the customer is returning/exchanging an item due to SK8 Monkey error or product manufacturing defect, SK8 Monkey will either provide a postage-paid return address label (sent to the customer via email) that the customer will attach to the return package, or SK8 Monkey will reimburse the customer for their shipping costs by another means at SK8 Monkey's discretion. Refunds will only be issued in the case of SK8 Monkey error or product manufacturing defect.

 

We will make every effort to process your Exchange or Store Credit in a timely manner, allowing sufficient time for internal processing (3-5 days), and return shipping in the case of exchanges where the product is in stock (5-10 days). Gift Certificates

 

If the customer used a SK8 Monkey Gift Certificate to pay for an item being returned, the same policy applies as with Store Credit. See above for more detail.

 

Items Not Eligible for Return/Exchange/Store Credit:

 

Sk8 Monkey does not accept returns of the following items:

  • Due to health and safety concerns, opened tights or gloves may not be returned without special pre-authorization (and evaluation after we receive them)
  • Gift Certificates
  • Products returned outside of the 14-day return policy window (or January 15, for post-Christmas returns), except in the case of SK8 Monkey error or product manufacturing defect, or with SK8 Monkey authorization due to a special case
  • Altered items (e.g., skate guards that have been cut to size, or crystal-embellished dresses), or items that show obvious signs of use
